Pacific Curls

Kia ora! Noa'ia ! Greetings !

So a huge sad but loving goodbye to our mother-to-be Sarah Beattie, whose bonny babe is due October.  We wish you the VERY best and much love from us. Words just don't really cut it and after our last gig together at WOMAD UK where all the Scottish family were there - well it was such a beautiful send-off to an incredible journey together.  All we can really say is .... WE LOVE YOU SARAH!!

AND sooooo  .... hello to INDI STAR!  Pacific Curls is moving mountains and we have the gorgeous Indi fiddling around with us!  Auckland born Malaysian/Scottish Indi has played the fiddle since she was a wee tike!  Having played with people such as The Hothouse Flowers, The Whitlams, Australian Idol Damien Leith and trance-dance band Loonaloop, Indi has propped her bow with the Curls.  Currently the manager for the Auckland Chamber Orchestra, Indi has a passion for traditional and world music styles of playing.  Right up our alley !

After a whirlwind tour of Gwandju Festival, Sth Korea and the Western Arts Alliance, Seattle, USA we are home again.  Huge thanks to Karen Fischer from Pasifika Artists Network and Creative NZ International for their support and sponsorship in getting us to Seattle.

We're currently recording our 5th album so its back to the studio end of September.

October we have some more gigs coming up:  Waka Maori in Auckland and also WOMAD Earth Station in Adelaide.  End of October, Ora and Kim are travelling to Winnipeg, Canada to work on a week long collaborative project with other Indigenous musicians.

In November we are over in Australia again for AWME - Australasian World Music Expo and a wee mini tour on Victoria.

See you around and care friends
